Sermons: Fellowship
Fellowship with Christ
The Laodiceans were confident, rich Christians. They thought all was well, but Jesus did not. He hated their lukewarm relationship with Him. Jesus made a great offer to them – He would come in to any man that would give Him entrance for intimate fellowship and friendship. How about you?
Filled with God
Ephesus was sealed by the Holy Spirit, enlightened by Him, and He lived in their church, but Paul knew there was much more, so he begged God for it. The Holy Spirit can testify truth inside you about Jesus Christ that passes human knowledge until you are filled with all the fulness of God.
Drawing Nigh to God
Your fellowship with Jesus Christ is of great importance. How can you restore first love, have dinner with Christ, and be filled with all the fulness of God? Here are plain and simple Bible methods used by others to draw nigh to God. Only a few will care enough to use them. Will you?
Spiritual Adultery
God and His Son Jesus compare our relationship to them like a marriage. If we befriend the world and let it steal our affection and attention, we commit spiritual adultery against God and Jesus. This strong language is used throughout the Bible to show how terrible our backsliding really is.
Walking with God
Great believers of the O.T. had fellowship with Jehovah. Though He is the infinite Creator, God is very knowable, and He calls His people to walk with Him. Here is a short and simple study of what it is to walk with God, what it is not, how to get it, how to keep it, and how to restore it.
Lovest Thou Me?
Peter denied Jesus three times with oaths and cursing. Jesus later kindly confronted Peter with this question. Do you love Jesus Christ? How much? More than others? Here are some Bible examples to help you examine your own love of Jesus Christ and some lessons on how to increase your love.
To Live Is Christ
Paul was obsessed with loving Jesus Christ. So was Mary Magdalene. There is nothing more important in your life than to draw near to God and live totally for His Son Jesus. God saved you to know Him better. He wants more fellowship with you. Here are steps to love Jesus Christ more.
We Would See Jesus
Do you delight in Jesus Christ? It is much more than believing on Him. Some Greeks wanted to see Jesus, not just hear about Him. Mary and Martha show the big difference in serving Jesus or delighting in Him. There is nothing more exhilarating than delighting in the Son of God personally.
The Danger of Ichabod
Walking with God is a great blessing. Israel lost it when the Philistines took the Ark. It was called Ichabod – the glory is departed. In the N.T., the candlestick may be removed from a church, which is the presence of the Holy Spirit. All efforts must be made to keep the Spirit of God with you.
Perfecting Holiness
God gave seven precious promises of an enhanced relationship with Him. Glory! But they are conditioned on separation from unbelief, paganism, idolatry, etc. These promises should highly motivate you to holy living in the fear of the Lord. Holiness is a command, but it has a great reward.
