Do Not Fall for Another Jesus

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

II Corinthians 11:3-4

Knowing Jesus, the Son of God, and obeying Him is the most important issue in your life. If you do not submit to Him, you will die in your sins, and eternal torment will follow. If you do not follow His teaching, your religious efforts are totally vain.

From the beginning in the Garden of Eden, the devil, called Satan, has fought against God and against truth. The source of lies and murder in the world is the devil. When Jesus the Son of God came, the devil did everything he could to destroy Him.

When Jesus died on the cross, paying for the sins of His people and delivering them from Satan, the devil had to alter his methods to oppose God and His children. He had to adapt to the new religion of Jesus Christ, so he invented an alternative Jesus.

The name of Jesus is used religiously all over the world. But the Jesus of Pope Francis and the Jesus of the Mormons and the Jesus of the Jehovah’s Witnesses are not the same. They are very different, and all three are different from the Bible Jesus.

Paul warned in the verses above that he was afraid even for one of his churches. He was afraid that the Corinthian church was so carnal in their thinking and ignorant in their doctrine that they were susceptible to false teachers presenting a false Jesus.

He went further and explained that Satan was also able to invent a false gospel and a false spirit. The devil is a deceptive liar and can make things look true that are only lies. So hear the sober warning – there is a false Jesus, spirit, and gospel to avoid.

Do not listen to men’s opinions about Jesus. Do not look at men’s pictures of Jesus. Do not imagine what you think Jesus is like. Do not read their books about Him. Go to the only true source document about Jesus Christ. Go to the Bible written by God.

Your church likely preaches a false Jesus. Paul warned truth would become very rare, so you must carefully prove things by the Bible. What a terrible error to think you are following Jesus when you are following the devil’s lie about Jesus instead!

About 2.2 billion persons on earth claim to be Christians. Yet Jesus wondered if there would be any with true faith when He returned. Question everything you know about Jesus to see if it is clearly taught in the Bible. You must reject anything else.
