The Animated Crucifix

A Bible critique and alternative view of
Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ”

“Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

II Corinthians 11:1-4

Introduction

The following critique is made with deep Christian affection for all who fear God, trust the Bible completely, and love the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our only source of objective truth, regardless of any or all opinions of men. We trust our hearts are sincere in wanting the best for the kingdom of Jesus Christ in the earth. Because we perceive this movie to be a real danger to Bible Christianity, we write to fulfill our Bible duty of earnestly contending for the apostolic faith (Jude 1:3). Most Christians are turning to fables from what truth they had, just as prophesied by Paul (II Tim 4:3-4).

We stand ready and willing to serve any who want to follow the Lord Jesus Christ more perfectly. Please consider reading II Timothy 3:1 – 4:4 as a single warning describing the carnal Christianity of our day. If you think us harsh, remember the examples of God’s prophets and apostles, and consider the seriousness of pleasing the risen Lord Jesus Christ, Who will soon examine and judge every detail of our lives (Eccl 12:13-14; II Cor 5:10-11; II Tim 4:1). Just one second in His terrible presence, and you will wish we had been harder in provoking you to question this movie and your religion (Rev 20:11-15).

The Lord Jesus Christ demands perfect worship in truth (John 4:21-24; Gal 1:6-9; I Tim 6:3-5; Heb 12:28-29; Rev 2:15). He does not allow for inventions or modifications to make it more acceptable for pagans. If you do not believe this, then you may want to save yourself some time and skip this critique.

The movie is a two-hour commercial for Catholicism

It is a Catholic movie. It is based on the traditions of Rome, rather than the Bible. It was produced, directed, acted, and endorsed by Catholics. It is a catechism and commercial for Catholicism. Rome’s history of opposition to the Bible and present practices contrary to the Bible make this a grave concern. The movie is based on the Rosary’s five sorrowful mysteries, follows the Stations of the Cross, emphasizes Jesus on a crucifix, includes many Catholic superstitions, and gives Mary a preeminent role.

What is wrong with Catholicism? A full answer is beyond this critique. But the Reformation occurred and many Christians are called Protestants for a reason. They protested against some of the false doctrines and practices of the Roman Church; they demanded she reform or they would leave. When measured by the Bible, Catholicism’s errors are Legion. Most believers a few decades ago understood Romanism fulfilled prophecies of Daniel, Paul, and John about the greatest enemy to Christianity.

What are the five sorrowful mysteries? The arrangement Mr. Gibson used for his movie. They are part of the Rosary, the string of beads Catholics use to count prayers. A loop of 55 prayers is made for the five sorrowful mysteries – that is 50 Hail Mary’s and 5 Our Father’s. The five sorrowful mysteries are the (1) Agony in the Garden, (2) the Scourging, (3) the Crowning with Thorns, (4) the Carrying of the Cross, and (5) the Crucifixion. Mr. Gibson religiously followed this Catholic format for his movie.

What is wrong with the five sorrowful mysteries? First, the Rosary is a method of praying that Jesus condemned (Matt 6:7). Second, they are an unscriptural devotion of Catholics. Nowhere in the Bible are these five identified as mysteries. Some true mysteries of the cross are election, adoption, atonement, justification, redemption, sanctification, and glorification. The mystery of the cross is what Jesus did spiritually to secure reconciliation with an offended Jehovah (I Cor 2:6-16; Eph 1:3-12; I Tim 3:16).

What are the Stations of the Cross? They are a Catholic ritual of 14 events around the crucifixion. Catholics used a little Bible and much imagination to invent them, and Mr. Gibson based his movie’s scenes on them. They include Veronica wiping Jesus’ face with a cloth, which supposedly left an image for a relic. They include Mary encouraging Jesus to Calvary. Three of them are Jesus falling, though He does not fall in the Bible. They include Mary holding the dead Jesus, which is the Pieta for Mariolaters.

What is wrong with the Stations of the Cross? First, there is no such thing in the Bible. Second, that is not how we remember His death (Rom 6:3-5; I Cor 11:26). Third, most of them are profane old wives’ fables condemned by Paul (I Tim 4:1-7). Fourth, they are doctrinally wrong, in that Veronica’s towel is worth absolutely nothing; and Jesus esteemed Mary no more important than any other believer (Luke 8:19-21; 11:27-28). Yet this fourteen-step devotional ritual is esteemed highly, and the movie follows it.

Catholics adore the crucifix. What is a crucifix? It is a cross with a longhaired man wearing a loincloth hanging on it. It cannot be Jesus: He had short hair, no loincloth, and is on a throne in heaven. You have seen it in Catholic churches, hospitals, and homes. It is a crucial icon in Catholic worship. They must have one with them at all times, and they must be buried with one. If they pray before one, they get a reduced sentence in Purgatory. What is Purgatory? Another one of their ten thousand inventions!

What is wrong with the crucifix? God condemned it as a graven image (Ex 20:4). Jesus and Paul knew nothing of it (Matt 28:20; I Tim 3:15; II Tim 3:16-17). It leaves Jesus in the most defeated, humiliated, and shamed position possible, which was only momentary, and only 2000 years ago. It leaves Jesus cursed, for the true God declared, “Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” (Gal 3:13; Deut 21:23). Satan knows Scripture better than Catholic popes, and he rejoices to see Jesus still cursed on a tree!

What is wrong with the crucifix? It humiliates and shames the Lord Jesus Christ, by leaving Him in the posture where Satan wants Him! When Jesus died, He defeated death and lives forevermore (Rev 1:18). He rose as the Man Christ Jesus into heaven and took David’s throne, far above all principalities and powers, including Satan and all his angels (Eph 1:20-23; I Pet 3:22). Having openly triumphed over Satan at the cross, He then threw him out of heaven (John 12:31; Col 2:15; Rev 12:1-10).

The “Passion” is an animated crucifix. Mel Gibson took 124 minutes to flagellate Jesus, throw him off a bridge, bleed him, slash him, and nail him to a cross. And he spent about 2 minutes to show some sort of a resurrection. These are Catholic proportions. They do not teach the Jesus with flaming eyes on a white horse, dripping with the blood of His enemies, and coming in vengeance (Rev 1:10-18; 19:11-16)! If you read Revelation chapters 17-18 with just a little understanding, you will understand why.

What is wrong with an animated crucifix? Because it is an abominable idol of a false Jesus, graven in celluloid at the rate of 24 images per second! It is idolatry. It is pure Catholicism. See the paragraphs above. It shows Jesus exactly how Satan wants him, hanging defeated in pain and shame on the cross. The devil dreaded the prophesied Seed of the woman for 4000 years (Gen 3:15). He cannot stand that a Man destroyed his works, was promoted over him, and will consign him to an eternal burning hell!

Mary is a central figure in the movie. She is kept prominent throughout. Mel did this to follow Catholic worship of Mary. Catholics pray like this: “Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.” Catholics believe Mary is the mother of God! They believe her prayers will help them at death! Mel believes Mary is a “tremendous co-redemptrix and mediatrix,” like a good Catholic. In an interview, Mel even called Mary the “morning star.” See Revelation 22:16 about that!

Mary is a central figure in the movie. Consider this sample of events from the movie: Peter confessed his denial of Jesus to Mary; only Jesus and Mary could see Satan; Mary had supernatural power to know where Jesus was in the palace; when Jesus would falter, he would get new strength by gazing at Mary; she opposed Satan on the way to Calvary; she was called “Mother” by the apostles; she offered to die with Jesus; she kissed blood from his feet; and she offered Jesus to the audience in the classic Pieta.

Mel knows he made a “Marian” movie. In an interview with Christianity Today, posted on February 20, 2004, Mel said, “I’ve been actually amazed at the way I would say the evangelical audience has – hands down – responded to this film more than any other Christian group.” What makes it so amazing, he says, is that “the film is so Marian.” This should make Bible Christians sick to their stomachs! Mel Gibson himself cannot believe how Christians who should know better are accepting his Mariolatry!

Mary and Mary looked like nuns. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus wore the habits of nuns in the movie, though such garments were still far in the future at the time. Mel is so superstitious about nuns that he carries a piece of one’s habit for a personal relic! And he recently blessed his only daughter to become a nun! Paul taught that required celibacy for religious service was a doctrine of the devil (I Tim 4:1-3). Who should a Bible Christian follow? Mel Gibson, or the apostle Paul?

Mel used two nun-mystics for content. They were Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824) and Mary of Agreda (1602-1665). These two women dreamed up embellishments that Mel worked into his movie. As a Catholic, it does not bother Mel to add the imaginations of women to the Bible record; a vision is as good as Scripture. All you need to do to verify this charge is read the works of the two women and listen to Mel talk about his “signs.” If you have any concern about his “signs,” see Deuteronomy 13:1-6.

Mel and J.C. use the Rosary. Who is J.C.? Jim Caviezel, the man who played Jesus. What is the Rosary? A string of beads to help Catholics say repetitive prayers in defiance of Jesus Christ’s command to not pray with vain repetitions (Matt 6:7). The Rosary proves Catholic idolatry of Mary, for they pray ten prayers to their mother of God for every prayer to God Himself. They believe Mary hears prayers better than God, and she can touch His heart by reminding Him of the breasts he suckled as an infant.

Mel used the Mass for inspiration. What is the Mass? It is a staged act where a priest turns a cracker into God and sacrifices Him again, and again, and again. It is called transubstantiation – transforming the substance of a cracker into God. Catholics assassinate their senses to believe the cracker has become God, because it still looks, tastes, smells, feels, and sounds like a cracker! It is the most abominable religious act in the world. Mel and J.C. went to Mass every day during filming to be “squeaky clean.”

Mel requires the Tridentine Mass. Mr. Gibson is a serious Catholic. He wants Mass in Latin. Think movie! He imported priests to do it the original way. For 1500 years until 1965, Catholics only watched the stage act and admired the pictures at church, for Mass was in Latin. Mel began each day crucifying a cracker Jesus in Latin! What Baptists and Protestants once despised as blasphemy, they now think are Mel’s godly devotions. They now buy popcorn and watch a Catholic movie together … in Latin!

The Mass is no light matter. Going to Mass was going to the devil for inspiration and power in the production of this movie. If Paul called Rome’s celibacy and avoiding meat to be doctrines of devils, what would he say of the Mass (I Tim 4:1-3)? The Mass is a hocus-pocus ritual (the actual Latin words are hoc est corpus meum). Bible Christians once understood the blasphemy of the Mass and gave their lives to oppose it. Think Lady Jane. But the ecumenical march to wholesale compromise goes on.

Mel thinks his wife and you are going to hell. Mel holds the standard, historical Catholic position, which he has stated to reporters, “There is no salvation outside the Church.” He follows his church perfectly – what the Pope has said ex cathedra, from the bishop’s seat, is infallible doctrine. What is incredibly appalling are the Biblically illiterate evangelicals using a movie to save the lost that was directed and produced by a man that believes they are all going to hell, unless they become Catholics!

What is special about Ash Wednesday? The movie was released on a Wednesday, which is very unusual, except for it being Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent! The movie is a Catholic catechism! Lent is 40 days of fasting (excluding Sundays) that ends on Easter Eve. It begins on a Wednesday, when ashes are put on the forehead like pagans, thus Ash Wednesday. What is Catholic fasting? Abstaining from meat, just as Paul condemned (I Tim 4:1-3). Look for fish and vegetarian specials during Lent!

The movie is an audio-visual Catholic catechism. It is a two-hour commercial for Catholicism; and ignorant Evangelicals, Protestants, and Baptists are flocking to it like the children of Hamelin to the Pied Piper. Pastors, fearing for their jobs and obsessed with popularity, feed the frenzy with adoring endorsements. God prophesied by Amos of a famine for the words of the Lord, and we are in it (Amos 8:11). Christianity, that once demanded, “Thus saith the Lord,” now flocks to a Catholic picture show!

The movie says nothing against Catholicism. No wonder Catholics are crazy about the movie. The movie says nothing against indulgences, priests, the Mass, baptismal regeneration, St. Anne, celibacy, the Rosary, popes, flattering titles, Mary worship, sacraments, the Inquisition, infant sprinkling, superstition, perpetual virginity, relics, fish on Friday, the confessional, icons, the Immaculate Conception, and numerous other abominations that Jesus and His apostles preached against.

What is wrong with Catholicism? Much more than we can enumerate in this movie critique. Let us summarize by saying it is the greatest enemy of Bible Christianity. Committing spiritual adultery by adopting countless elements of pagan religion, the church at Rome became the great whore of Revelation 17, the Man of Sin of II Thessalonians 2, and the little Roman horn of Daniel 7. As stated in the Westminster Confession of Faith (Section 25; Paragraph 6), it is the church of the Anti-Christ.

Why did martyrs die and the Reformation occur? Fanatical efforts are made to preserve the memory of the Holocaust, but what happened to the Catholic inquisitions that took a greater number of lives? Everyone used to know about Foxe’s Book of Martyrs. Why did the Reformation occur? Why were so many called Protestants? What were they protesting? The Ecumenical Movement has put another layer of white wool over the body of the wolf. Criticize this movie strongly, and watch the fangs come out!

Historical ignorance is not bliss. Of course, the assertion about Rome will be hard for many to accept or understand. The Bible warns against Roman Catholicism very strongly in many places (Dan 7:1-28; II Thess 2:3-12; I Tim 4:1-3; Rev 12:1-17; 13:1-18; 17:1-18; 18:1-24). Just 300 years ago all evangelicals believed and understood this assertion. They had just fought the Protestant Reformation (protestors demanding reform) to oppose their great enemy. If you doubt these claims, get out your history books.

Historical ignorance is not bliss. The period of time the Roman Catholic Church ruled Europe was once appropriately called the Dark Ages; today it is blandly called the Middle Ages. The ignorance and superstition that prevailed over Europe while the Latin Church built its cathedrals on the payments for indulgences was astounding. But wisdom and truth burst forth with clear radiance with the open propagation of the Scriptures and the preaching of the gospel in the languages of the people.

We do not hate Catholics. We would do anything we could to help sincere Catholics learn the Word of God. We believe God has His elect in the Catholic Church, but He calls them to come out of her (Rev 18:4). We would do anything for sincere believers deceived by Catholicism, but we cannot whitewash the doctrinal and practical heresies of that system. The Reformation and even the formation of this country occurred through efforts to reject Rome and pursue Biblical Christianity.

The movie has condemned images and likenesses of God

God condemns images or likenesses for religious purposes. The LORD Jehovah said to Israel, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth” (Ex 20:4). And again, “Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth” (Deut 5:8).

The second commandment condemns the movie. Here is where Bible believers separate from pretenders. The first commandment forbids other gods (Ex 20:3). The second commandment forbids any images or likenesses of any thing (Ex 20:4), and it also forbids bowing down to the forbidden images or likenesses (Ex 20:5). The second commandment is a plain prohibition of making any graven image or likeness for religious purposes, even if you did not bow down or worship it.

Mel and Catholics do not think it is wrong. Because they have an obsession with art, images, crosses, paintings, relics, stained glass, statues, shrines, and icons, the Catholic Church removed commandment two and divided commandment ten into two parts to keep a total of ten! They do not have the commandment that forbids making a graven image or likeness, which also condemns bowing down to it or serving it. A little reading of religious history will show this alteration to the Ten Commandments.

God communicated by words for the mind. He told Moses to remember that His religion was based on words (Ex 24:3-4; Deut 4:10; 6:4-9; Ps 12:6-7; Is 30:8). He reminded Moses that He showed no similitude of Himself, so that they could not make any image or likeness to represent Him (Deut 4:15-26). And the New Testament is also based on words (I Cor 2:13; I Tim 4:6; 6:3; II Tim 1:13; II Pet 1:19-21). Here is the crux of being a Bible Christian – we take our stand on the words of God in Scripture.

Satan attacks God’s words with pictures. Man’s history is a satanic pursuit to create gods of their own liking (Ps 106:19-20; Is 44:9-20; Acts 17:29-31; Rom 1:19-23). Since a picture is worth a thousand words to the ignorant, Satan tries to overwhelm the objectivity of God’s words with images. Think Dark Ages! For man’s rebellion with images, God darkened his heart and gave him a reprobate mind (Rom 1:19-32). Resenting sound doctrine, carnal Christians today choose fables and movies (II Tim 4:3-4).

Faithful saints reject pictures of Jesus. The Second Commandment is enough for them. They do not have pictures of Jesus in their churches or homes. Why would they consider a moving picture of Jesus, which is far more presumptuous of His person, manners, speech, and appearance? No man can portray Jesus Christ. The great God said, “To whom then will ye liken me?” (Is 40:25.) Jesus, the full Godhead in a body, did not allow a record of His appearance to avoid the very thing Mel did (Col 2:9).

But was not Jesus a man on earth? Yes, Jesus was a man on earth! But He was also the mighty God (Is 9:6), Immanuel – God with us (Is 7:14; Matt 1:23), and contained within His body the fullness of the Godhead (Col 2:9). No man had ever spoken like Him (John 7:46). And His Father was extremely jealous of His glory (Matt 17:1-6). Making a likeness of Him is at least as offensive as one of the Father. Therefore, God left no Bible record of His appearance – the Catholic pictures are entirely imagined.

Such images will not go away easily. Once the images and likenesses are embedded in your brain, with the enhancement of a melancholy soundtrack, you will have great difficulty removing them. Yet they are not Jesus Christ, nor even a close resemblance of Jesus Christ. The image in your mind and heart will be the fictional imagination of a Hollywood director and actor, who are both Catholics. The words of Jesus, the basis of His religion, are entirely overlooked (John 3:34; 6:68; 12:48; 14:23; 17:8; I Tim 6:3-5).

True disciples do not need a movie. The Spirit teaches the elect with words (I Cor 2:13). They do not need to watch a Catholic picture show about a longhaired, effeminate guru with a New Age soundtrack to get convicted. They would never even think of such a profane idea. They know He ordained three ways to remember His death – water baptism by immersion, the Lord’s Supper understood as a metaphor, and the preaching of the gospel (Rom 6:3-5; I Cor 11:23-26; 15:1-11; I John 5:6-8).

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Faith comes by hearing, not by seeing; and it comes by hearing the Word of God, not by seeing pictures of Jesus and listening to soul rending music (Rom 10:17). When God saw man could not figure anything out about Him or truth, He sent preachers with truth and wisdom to men (I Cor 1:17-21; Eph 4:8-16). The church is the pillar and ground of the truth, and it is communicated by ministerial succession, not by images or likenesses (I Tim 3:15; II Tim 2:2).

Christ dwells in the heart by faith. Saints do not need pictures to get a better view of Jesus, especially when the pictures are false to begin with. Faith and the Spirit are enough to see Jesus and comprehend His love until a saint is filled with all the fullness of God (Eph 3:14-19)! He told Thomas those who believed in Him without seeing were blessed (John 20:29)! True saints love and believe on Jesus with joy unspeakable and full of glory without seeing Him (I Pet 1:8)! Now, why do you need a picture?

Did the apostles have a Passion play? They could have dramatized the crucifixion at Pentecost, or mimed it with their faces painted white! The events were fresh in their memories, and they had Mary to play herself! What an opportunity! Peter could have played Peter! They knew such activities were devilish. Jesus had charged them to preach the gospel and teach their converts all His sayings, which they did (Matt 28:18-20; Mark 16:19-20). They preached Him on a throne, not a crucifix (Acts 2:32-36).

The movie is condemned by images and likenesses. Mel Gibson’s movie is nothing but a two-hour stream of images graven in celluloid at the rate of 24 frames per second! He has made thousands of graven images and likenesses of God’s Son engaged in a divine transaction and spiritual conflict, though Mel does not know how He appeared on earth 2000 years ago or His present appearance in heaven! What presumption! And he thinks he knows what Satan looks like! But certainly not the Bible picture!

This movie should be rated XXX. Children and all emotional persons will have difficulty separating fact from fiction and resisting the audio and visual combination. Once the images and subscripts are embedded in the mind by the relentless musical theme, they will be unable to read Scripture, pray, or hear preaching without mental recall of false images of a false Christ portrayed by a Hollywood actor. Instead of knowing the Jesus of God, they will recall one of many takes from several of many sets.

The movie presents another Jesus

There is another Jesus. And there is another gospel and spirit (II Cor 11:1-4,13-15). Don’t ever forget this! Imitation Christs are the greatest threats the saints have ever faced (Matt 24:23-24)! Consider Paul’s fear that the Corinthians would be deceived by Satan to accept another Jesus. The devil is not a red fiend with a pitchfork and tail, asking men to go to hell with him. He comes as another Jesus, with gentle compassion as an angel of light, and asks you to go to heaven with him.

Jesus is only known by Scripture. The Jesus of God is known only by Bible revelation (Is 8:20; John 5:39; Acts 26:22-23; Gal 1:8-9; Rev 12:17). Jesus is not known by apparitions, dreams, or visions. Mel used a 75-book Bible based on his Catholic catechism, studied the Shroud of Turin, added fiction from stigmatic nun-mystics, followed the 14 Stations of the Cross, promoted Mary to mother of God, found Veronica a towel, and removed anything offensive to Catholics or Jews. His is not the Jesus of God.

How can you tell a false Jesus? By comparing him to the Jesus of the Bible (I John 4:1-6). There is no room for any variation from the Bible, or you are not a Bible Christian (Is 8:20; Ps 119:128). It is the words of Jesus Christ that count, not whether you can count the drops of blood from His body (I Tim 6:3-5). Jesus Himself said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). It does not matter if you cry, sob, and say you know Jesus; if you do not keep His commandments, you are a liar (I John 2:4).

The movie Jesus is not Jesus. The Jesus of God required repentance, not sobbing at a crucifix (Matt 4:17; Luke 13:3, 13:5). He demanded worship in truth, not ecumenical compromise (John 4:21-24). He taught detailed righteous living, not contemporary worship (Matt 5:19-20). He required self-denial, not a crying session with Mary (Matt 10:37-39). He criticized every false doctrine he found, rather than overlooking it as artistic license (Matt 21:23 – 23:39). And He did not fall on the way to Calvary.

The movie Jesus is not Jesus. He made a scourge by hand and used it on those making money from religion (John 2:13-17). Think box office! He promised horrific judgment on the Jews (Matt 21:41; 22:7; 24:1-35; Luke 19:41-44). He warned the sobbing women on the way to Calvary that they ought to be crying for the judgment coming on their nation (Luke 23:27-31). He did not honor Mary above other average disciples (Luke 8:19-21; 11:27-28). She had nothing to do with His redemptive work at all.

The movie humiliates Jesus! God said it is a shame for a man to have long hair (I Cor 11:14). If you don’t like that, Paul had more to say (I Cor 11:16; 14:38). Jesus never had long hair, provable by this verse alone, but confirmed by historians. John Baptist was a Nazarite with long hair, but Jesus was not. Mel used the Catholic myth of a longhaired, effeminate Jesus from the Shroud of Turin, proven to be a hoax years ago. Why did he think Jesus had hair longer than Pilate? What spirit loves to shame Jesus?

The movie humiliates Jesus! The movie presents a weak Jesus and strong Mary. If it were not for Mary being there to strengthen Him, He likely could not have done it. He gained resolve and strength by gazing at her. But the Jesus of God went boldly to His death (Luke 9:51). The movie Jesus does not knock the mob backward to the ground with His words, “I am he,” as recorded by John (John 18:6). And the movie closes with a view and impression of a naked Jesus walking out of the tomb!

The Shroud of Turin is a fraud and hoax. Mel used the Shroud of Turin as the model for applying makeup to Jim Caviezel. But we know from John 20:7 that Jesus was not wrapped in one burial cloth. There was a cloth napkin for His head, and linen clothes for His body. And these were separated from each other after His resurrection. Why don’t they read the Bible? Because they resent it! Because it condemns their pagan veneration of relics! Every Bible Christian knows the Shroud is a hoax!

Satan hates Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus is the male Seed promised by God in Eden to destroy him (Gen 3:15). Satan tried to wipe out the holy line by moving Cain to kill Abel; he moved Herod to kill the young children of Bethlehem; and there were other attempts in between. He attacked Jesus in the wilderness with temptations, and he attacked Him before His crucifixion. Why? Because Jesus, as a Man, humiliated him on the cross and will consign him to hell (Col 2:15; Heb 2:14; I John 3:8)!

Mel Gibson is likely innocent. We do not believe he is intentionally misleading anyone. We believe he is a sincere Roman Catholic blinded by the ignorance for which that church is famous. He is naturally very gifted at his craft, likely the best; but the devil used his ignorance of Bible Christianity to create a manmade Jesus to turn many away from the blessed and only Potentate, Who reigns in heaven at this hour! His idea of Jesus is the false image presented by the Catholic Church, in a manger or on a crucifix.

Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords. He destroyed His Jewish enemies by Roman armies in 70 AD. This sign of His kingly power was one of the most important events of the New Testament. And He is coming soon to destroy the world! He is coming with mighty angels in flaming fire to destroy every enemy without mercy (II Thess 1:7-10)! Why not a movie, “The Terror of the Christ,” with Jesus on His white horse, dripping with the blood of His enemies (II Cor 5:10-11; Rev 1:10-18; 19:11-16)?

Beloved John could hardly recognize Him! The apostle John laid on Jesus’ bosom at supper, was much loved by Jesus, was at the foot of the cross with His mother, and had known Jesus intimately for over 3 years. But when he saw Him glorified after His resurrection, He fell at his feet as dead (Rev 1:17)! Where is this terrible impression in “The Passion”? Jesus was not an effeminate, longhaired guru on earth; and He is certainly not one now! But Mel brainwashes every viewer with a hippie Jesus!

Jesus Christ never compromised! He measured men by obedience to His commandments, not by sentimental emotion (Matt 7:21-23; John 14:15). He came to divide and separate men, which He did (Matt 10:34-36; Luke 2:34-35; John 7:43; 9:16; 10:19). He did not allow any compromise with the world whatsoever (Matt 6:24; 10:37-39). He required total denial of any competing interests in the lives of His disciples (Luke 14:25-33). The movie totally ignores all these things, for obvious reasons.

Why is Mel’s Jesus so popular? Why is the religious world flocking after him? Why are religious leaders all praising the movie? The real Jesus was despised and hated, especially by religious leaders! Only a few believed on Him and chose to follow Him. His demands for self-denial and holy living were far too much for religious people. Who can possibly believe this generation of carnal Christians is better? Is this movie popular because its Jesus is the religious world’s gentle Jesus of compromise?

Why is Mel’s Jesus so popular? Paul warned Timothy that the perilous times of the last days would bring a generation of Christians loving pleasure more than God, and having a form of godliness without any power, or authority (II Tim 3:1-5). This brand of Christianity would cater to women (II Tim 3:6-7). It would be worse than ever in seducing men from the truth (II Tim 3:8-13). And the only cure was to preach the Word of God, which they would reject (II Tim 3:14-4:4). The movie Jesus is not Jesus.

The movie is not Scriptural

Mel took the Bible out of context and embellished it. Mel showed Mary helping Jesus after he fell under the cross (after he was thrown from a bridge), and he looked at her and said, “Behold, I make all things new.” These words are from Revelation 21:5 and have nothing to do with Jesus improving humanity at the cross. He will make all things new for His elect, when He burns up the present world and makes it over again! Bible Christians reject obvious corruptions to the Word of God (II Cor 2:17).

Satan is not a woman under a black cloak. Satan wants you to think he is a red fiend with a pitchfork or an androgynous freak under a black cloak; but that is crucial to his deception of men, and Mel assisted his design. The Bible tells us what Satan looks like – an angel of light and minister of righteousness. He comes as another Jesus, with another gospel, assisted by another spirit (II Cor 11:1-4,13-15). And Jesus did not fulfill Genesis 3:15 by stepping on a snake in Gethsemane, as Mel portrays!

The movie contains many additions. Whether Veronica and her towel, Pilate’s wife bringing towels to Mary, Jesus falling on the way to Calvary, Mary wiping his blood from the pavement, Mary holding him after he died, or many other embellishments, Mel added to the Bible record of the crucifixion. Jesus said, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book” (Rev 22:18).

The movie contains deletions. Why did Mel delete the segment based on Matthew 27:25, where the Jews screamed, “His blood be on us, and on our children”? Mel Gibson does not care about facts or truth. He cares about pleasing men and marketing a movie to satisfy Christ-rejecting Jews and Biblically illiterate Christians enough to be a financial success. The Jews have always regretted that statement; they were trying to escape their own curse just 50 days later (Acts 5:28)!

The Bible record indicts the Jews. When Pilate told Jesus he had authority to crucify or release Him, Jesus stated the obvious, “He that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin,” meaning Caiaphas, the Jews’ high priest (John 19:10-11). The New Testament declares the Jews crucified Jesus out of wicked envy (Matt 27:18; Acts 2:22-23; I Thess 2:14-16). Jesus spoke of it often (Matt 16:21; 21:33-46; 22:1-9). The Romans merely executed the sentence. It is a Jewish fable to believe anything else (Titus 1:14).

The Jewish matter was important to Jesus. The destruction of Jerusalem was the most visible evidence of the kingdom authority of Jesus Christ! He had promised the destruction of Jerusalem, which came in 70 AD, just as Daniel had prophesied to Israel some 500 years earlier (Dan 9:26-27; Matt 24:34-35). Read the gory details of the destruction of Jerusalem by the great Jewish historian, Josephus, in his Wars of the Jews! Jesus is the reigning Son of David over all angels and men at this hour!

Jesus did not die as a martyr or example. He died for the covenant redemption of His elect. God had purposed the whole drama before He ever created Adam and Eve (Titus 1:2-3; I Pet 1:20). The crucifixion of Jesus Christ has an essential theological and doctrinal framework, of which Mel Gibson knows little. Simply showing 124 minutes of the gory details of a crucifixion with a moving soundtrack does nothing to proclaim the infallible mysteries of the gospel and the duties incumbent on believers.

Jesus did not come to bring peace on earth! He came to bring a sword! Read it in Matthew 10:34-39. He was set for the rise and fall of many in Israel (Luke 2:34-35). There was a great division among the people because of Him (John 7:43; 9:16; 10:19). Mel’s idea of Jesus coming and dying to bring peace for all men is ludicrous in light of the Bible record of Him. He and His cousin, John the Baptist, warned that generation of the horrible judgment coming for rejecting the prophets and the Son of God.

Jesus did not die as an example of love. He died out of true love for His elect. He died according to the eternal counsel of God to be a substitutionary sacrifice for them. He died to pay the sin debt of the elect given to Him by the Father before the world began, and not a single one of them will miss salvation by Him (John 6:39; 10:11; 17:2). Their names were written in the Book of Life before the world began (Rev 13:8; 17:8). The purpose and operation of God in saving them cannot be resisted (Rom 8:29-39).

Mel and the movie are cursed. Get upset at Paul, but not at us. Paul said any angel or man presenting a different gospel than what he preached was cursed (Gal 1:8-9). Mel’s faith, religion, church, and movie are contrary to what Paul taught. There is one simple apostolic faith written down by the apostles for our obedience (II Thess 2:15; Jude 1:3). Any variation from that faith puts a person under Paul’s curse. We did not decide Mel and his movie are cursed. Paul already decided it by the inspiration of God.

Jesus did not come to unite religions. He knew truth and lies could not coexist. He damned both the conservative Pharisees and the liberal Sadducees (Matt 22:23-46; 23:33). When told He had offended the Pharisees, His words were harsh and true, exactly what they deserved (Matt 15:12-14). He told Samaritans they didn’t know what they were worshipping, and He told some believing Jews they were the children of the devil (John 4:22; 8:31, 44). Reader, why do you think we are harsh?

The Ecumenism Compromise rolls on. Mr. Gibson is at the forefront of mongrelizing nominal Christian denominations into a big happy family of heretical combination with Rome. As stated earlier, he is surprised by the evangelical interest in his “Marian” movie. Unless the evangelicals buy tickets, the movie is a bust. Unless the Catholics participate big time, the movie is a bust. But hand in hand, sharing popcorn and an animated crucifix, he can smile all the way to the bank!

What does the Bible say? We are accountable for what Jesus said, and that is what was inspired and preserved for us in Scripture. He said to reject any differences from His pure doctrine contained in the Scriptures (Matt 7:28-29; 12:30; 16:12; 22:29). And Paul, who is the example for Gentiles of how to follow Jesus Christ, said the same thing (Rom 16:17-18; II Thess 2:15; 3:6, 14; I Tim 6:3-5; II Tim 3:1-5; Titus 3:10). Therefore, you should have nothing to do with this unscriptural movie.

The movie has no godly bottom-line

What is the bottom line of the movie? Other than Mel getting rich off religion, of course! The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches men something – it teaches men the life of self-denial and rejection of the world and all its lusts. It teaches sober, righteous, and godly living. It teaches that men should look for the coming of Jesus Christ and be zealous of good works. This is the bottom line of the true gospel, and this is as powerful a point against the movie as any other already given (Titus 2:11-14; Rom 12:1-2).

The movie does not call anyone to repentance. There is not a single call for repentance, righteous living, or self-sacrifice. It does not convey the essential element of the gospel – the commandments of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:20). The true gospel is not sobbing about fake blood dripping out of fake wounds. The gospel of Jesus Christ is crucifying your fleshly lusts through self-denial to follow Jesus Christ’s holy life against this wicked world. He and His apostles preached repentance (Matt 4:17; Acts 2:37-38).

Crucifixion gore is not the gospel. The apostles did not sit in dark rooms and describe the details of Jesus’ scourging. Peter’s first sermon at Pentecost was typical and should be reviewed intently. Just 50 days after the crucifixion, here is what Peter preached: you wicked Jews have crucified Jesus, but God has raised Him from the dead, and He is now seated in heaven as your Lord and Messiah (Acts 2:32-36). And the result was not sobbing about scourge blows, but repentance out of fear of judgment (Acts 2:37)!

Sorrow and obedience are two different things. Jesus called men to obey, not to cry. Sorrow proves nothing, for men will sob and feel sorry after any emotional drama. They are sorry when they get caught, but godly sorrow causes immediate reformation. Godly sorrow works repentance and obedience to the clearing of a life before God (II Cor 7:10-11). To obey is better than sacrifice (I Sam 15:22), even when the sacrifice is an ordained means of worshipping God, which this movie is not.

The name of Jesus Christ has no intrinsic value. Repeating the words has nothing to do with truth, no matter how many times they are said, as only the regenerate elect can truly say Jesus is Lord (I Cor 12:3). Seven sons of Sceva tried His name once, but they fled out of that house naked and wounded (Acts 19:13-17). His name and a few portions of the gospels have no intrinsic value. There are many that claim the name of Jesus, whom Jesus will send to hell in a day fast approaching (Matt 7:21-23).

Will viewers leave to keep God’s commandments? They will not be told anything of the sort, though Jesus of Nazareth’s basic message was this: “If ye love me, keep my commandments,” and, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Mel could not repeat those words and give them any Bible definition, for it would condemn his whole career and religion! The gospel is not getting weepy at gore; but getting busy for the Lord. It is not crucifying Him again, but crucifying yourself (Luke 9:23; Gal 2:20; 6:14)!

The true gospel is a warning of judgment. Neither the Lord Jesus Christ nor His apostles ever presented the gospel without strong warnings of future judgment without proper repentance. They reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and coming judgment to their audiences, not just an emotional view of the crucifixion (Acts 2:33-36; 17:30-31; 24:25). Jesus is not on a crucifix, where Catholics like him! He is on the throne of heaven! Is there a spirit terrified of the real Jesus and coming judgment?

Where is the gospel bottom-line? Who will tell each audience the many sins for which they ought to repent? When Stephen preached to the Jews, he brought matters to a head very plainly, something this movie does not do at all (Acts 7:51-53). When the apostles of Jesus Christ preached, men repented and turned their lives upside down (Acts 19:18-20)! The true gospel of Jesus Christ is life changing, as it changed the believers in Thessalonica (I Thess 1:9-10)! True believers are new creatures (II Cor 5:17)!

The Jesus of God is coming in judgment. The Lord Jesus sits at the right hand of power, waiting to reveal Himself as the blessed and only Potentate, King of kings and Lord of lords (I Tim 6:13-16). He has the keys of hell and death (Rev 1:18). An empty tomb does not rightly represent Him! He is rightly represented by coming with His holy angels in flaming fire to destroy this world (II Thess 1:7-9)!

The movie is condemned by popular praise

Foaming praise condemns it. Moses warned early that following a crowd to commit sin was wrong (Ex 23:2). Neither majority nor popularity means anything. Ask Noah! Worldly popularity is condemning! Things highly esteemed by men are abominations to God (Luke 6:26; 16:15)! Why is the rush for this movie much greater than the rush for the true Jesus? Because America is spiritual? Not a chance (II Tim 3:1-13)! Satan is pushing this movie to give the unregenerate a religious fix and to deceive the elect.

The true Jesus never had it so good. Jesus preached pure truth, healed the sick, raised the dead, was perfect in word and deed, and never asked for money from anyone. Yet, He only had 120 committed followers after three and one-half years (Acts 1:15). The tens of thousands of tickets bought up even before the movie was released and the box office crush since does not speak well for the movie. A carnal nation’s excitement is condemning! For they would crucify the real Jesus as fast as did the Jews!

God is jealous for pure worship. He condemns friendship with the world as spiritual adultery (Jas 4:4). This movie was written by the world, directed by the world, acted by worldly actors and actresses, produced by the world, marketed by the world, seen only in worldly movie houses, and endorsed by the world. Christ’s true followers do not conform to this world’s activities or ideas of religion at all (Rom 12:1-2; II Cor 6:14-17). We are not even to inquire how the world worships their gods (Deut 12:29-32).

The movie’s false gospel will not work

God does not allow enhancements to the gospel. The blessed God chose to communicate the knowledge of Jesus Christ by the preaching of the gospel (I Cor 1:17-21). Think fishermen and a tax collector as apostles. If simple men preaching Jesus Christ in a simple manner does not move a man, then any conviction or emotion that man obtains from other means is purely a natural response to natural stimulus (I Cor 2:1-5). He is not responding to God; he is responding to the fleshly enhancements.

The God of heaven does not cater to men at all. When the blessed God took a market survey of both Jews and Greeks, He ignored their preferences for signs and wisdom; and He gave them offensive preaching of Jesus Christ instead (I Cor 1:19-24). Paul knew any “converts” by human enticement or efforts would stand in the wisdom of men, rather than in the power of God (I Cor 2:1-5). The power of God is clearly evident when sinners repent at the plain preaching of the gospel by simple men.

Abraham turned down a huge blockbuster! The rich man in hell suggested that Lazarus go back from the dead to warn his five brothers not to join him in the fire (Luke 16:27-31). Now that would be some special effects! That would bring the house down! Who could resist the eyewitness testimony of a man from heaven? But Abraham said that if the brothers did not like the preaching of the Bible on the Sabbath Day, then even Lazarus returning from the dead would not truly move their souls.

Paul would condemn the movie. If the apostle Paul rejected enticing words of man’s wisdom in preaching the gospel, why would he recommend a Catholic catechism of concentrated audio-visual bombardment of the senses with a bleeding-heart soundtrack (I Cor 2:1-5)? Any stirring of the human soul will merely be a Pavlovian response to the intense graphic images of suffering and violence and the melancholy music. There is no New Testament record of the apostles suggesting anything even close.

The true gospel contains mysteries. The gospel of Christ reveals hidden wisdom and mysteries to the regenerated elect only (I Cor 2:6-16). It was never intended for natural men, so it does not need natural enhancements. Natural men consider these mysteries of the Spirit of God to be foolishness (I Cor 2:14). A born again child of God is convicted and moved by mere preaching (Acts 2:37), but those not born again cannot be moved by any form of persuasion (Acts 7:54; Is 26:10; Luke 16:27-31; John 3:3).

The New Testament is based on understanding. It is not based on emotion, feelings, and spirit-only activities (I Cor 14:15). It is based on a sound mind (II Tim 1:7). It is not based on emotional foam washed up on the shore of a silly heart by the hypnotic waves of audio and visual stimuli. The end-justifies-the-means crowd, with their Jesus rap and Jesus and Mary action toys, are entirely out of contact with the Bible and fulfill its dire warnings of evil seducers in the last days.

We live in the perilous times of the last day. Men will no longer accept sound doctrine; they want entertainment and fables, like a Catholic movie about Jesus (II Tim 4:1-4). Any response to this movie is not a work of the Spirit of God, for the Bible declares that God converts His elect through plain preaching by plain men. Christian leaders who allow or promote pleasure-seeking Christianity, a form of godliness without holiness, and results-oriented ministries are to be rejected (II Tim 3:1-5; I Tim 6:3-5).

God seeks true worshippers. The New Testament religion of Jesus Christ is worshipping God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). The sensual religion of sight, sound, smell, feel, and taste of the Old Testament has passed away altogether (Luke 16:16; Heb 9:10). The kingdom of Jesus Christ does not come with observation, for it is a spiritual kingdom within men, and it cannot be assisted by sensual means. Catholics may offer stage acts in Latin, but apostolic religion is strictly by the Book.

What would Paul do? Paul was made all things to all men that he might by all means save some (I Cor 9:22), but the salvation was only conversion, and the compromise was only in matters of liberty. See the context. A Catholic moving picture is not a matter of liberty. To use this verse to degrade the gospel of Christ down to street level is a travesty of wresting the Scriptures. Jesus did not compromise for sinners; He demanded repentance. The apostles did not compromise for sinners; they demanded repentance.

Movies overwhelm the senses. A well-prepared movie is an intense presentation of a subject, and Mel Gibson is one of the best producers/actors living today. Viewers were ready to fight and die for “freedom” after watching adulterous Braveheart! His talents are well known. But two hours of graphic images and a good soundtrack convinced Germany to sell their souls to Hitler (see the propaganda film, Triumph of the Will). True, viewers will cry at the “The Passion.” But Mel Gibson rang the bell!

The movie cannot produce true conviction. If you are convicted or moved by this movie, you are being convicted and moved by the power of darkness and/or the multi-media presentation on your flesh. Why are you not moved by God’s ordained method of preaching sound doctrine? Why does reading God’s inspired and infallible not move you? It is highly improbable God would use blasphemous, carnal, and heretical means to convict and move men to righteousness. Is there a Bible example?

Emotion is not conviction! Repentance is conviction! Tears prove nothing! Effusive praise of a contemporary movie proves nothing! Only faith that works by love proves anything (Gal 5:6). Only repentance unto salvation not to be repented of proves something (II Cor 7:10-11)! Paul carefully avoided enticing words to move men, because he wanted their faith to stand only in the power of God. Belief is not enough. Abraham and Rahab were justified by works (Jas 2:14-26). Don’t forget it!

Herod gladly heard John the Baptist. Felix trembled at Paul’s reasoning; but neither man had the repentance of a child of God. In both cases it was merely the natural fear of a natural man afraid of judgment. Any emotional response to this movie is nothing more than that of a natural man attending the funeral of a colleague, temporary and fruitless. Many believed on Jesus, but when Jesus pushed their buttons, they wanted to kill Him (John 8:31-59). Are you familiar with such Bible evidence?

This movie cannot save a single soul. In spite of the claims and projections being made by many, not a single name will be written in the book of life because of this movie. Only God can regenerate a human soul, and He does it by His own power without any human cooperation or means (John 1:13; 3:8; 5:25). Though He never uses any means for regeneration, He certainly would not use the world’s fleshly means of a blasphemous movie for such a spiritual operation.

What about Mel himself?

Mel Gibson is an extreme Catholic. He hears the Mass in Latin and abstains from meat on Friday. He rejects the compromises of Vatican II. He has his own Catholic chapel, Holy Family, on his property in California. He doubts the salvation of his Episcopalian wife and all Protestants and Baptists. He knows his film is very “Marian,” and he is surprised by the evangelical reception of it. He sees Mary as a “tremendous co-redemptrix and mediatrix”; he thinks Jesus could have saved us by pricking his finger.

What fruits does Mel have as a prophet? Jesus taught, “By their fruits ye shall know them” (Matt 7:15-20). Mel’s fruits are entirely of this world and false religion. His movies have played an important role in undermining the faith and morality of this nation and promoting a generation of lascivious and profane sinners. Where are the fruits of holiness and righteousness, which must and will characterize the labors of true disciples and servants of Jesus Christ? Mel is not leading men to the Jesus of the Bible.

Mel promotes sin and smut. His portfolio of movies opposes the religion of Jesus Christ. His movies promote faithless living, fornication, cursing, adultery, foolish talking, covetousness, revenge, gratuitous nudity and violence, disrespect of authority, pride, drunkenness, foolishness, profanity, etc., etc. When will this “squeaky clean” man condemn these movies, from which he collects royalties? After watching “The Passion,” you can go home and watch “Lethal Weapon” (1998) or “What Women Want” (2000).

Where do profits go from a movie like this? Mel let everyone know he funded this movie himself, which impresses most people that his heart is pure gold. But every movie has investors, and Mel simply invested in himself, knowing he could pull off a large return on a medium budget movie. If he keeps the profits, your ticket supports an extreme Catholic that believes Protestants go to hell. If he gives the profits to charity, your ticket supports Catholic organizations.

How did Mel pick his actresses? Monica Bellucci (Mary Magdalene), Claudia Gerini (Wife of Pontius Pilate), and Rosita Celentano (Satan) are European porn models with pictures or films to confirm, though relatively unknown in America. For a man going to Mass every day to be “squeaky clean,” selecting these women to play major roles in a movie about Jesus Christ is more than a little hypocritical. Have we missed some wonderful repentance stories? Or is Mel just Hollywood as usual?

What about Jim Caviezel?

Who is Jim Caviezel? The guy who played Jesus. A Hollywood actor cannot portray the Jesus of God. It is blasphemous to even try to portray the person, character, and actions of the Lord Jesus Christ. What man can represent the unrepresentable? Especially in a personal and visual way? The man in the movie does not look like Jesus, sound like Jesus, or act like Jesus. To read of people bowing down to this man is ludicrous, but very possible given today’s ignorant sentimentality.

Jim Caviezel is inspired by Mary. Jim Caviezel is so superstitious he carried a piece of wood during production that he believed was a piece of the real cross! He prayed the rosary every day, which is the superstitious chanting of a heathen (Matt 6:7). He said in an interview, “This film is something that I believe was made by Mary for her Son.” His ungodly purpose in the movie is to “bring mankind back together.” He obtained inspiration for taking the part from the visions of Mary at Medjugorje.

Conclusion

You will sin. If you attend the movie other than to critically review it, you will sin. We do not determine sin, but God does and has. God gave His verdict in the Bible. It is your duty to read and obey it. It is a Catholic movie, violates the Second Commandment, presents another Jesus, is not Scriptural, and is condemned by its widespread approval. It has no bottom line and cannot have any positive influence for truth or righteousness. It mongrelizes religion and sells Catholicism by its obvious ecumenical intent.

You will harm your soul. The Jesus of the movie is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the movie is not the Jesus of God. You are going to the devil to get a view of Jesus, and you will not undo the damage easily. The Jesus you see is that which Satan wants you to see. He does not call on you to repent and choose a life of self-denial and godliness, because that is contrary to the devil’s agenda. He does not want you to see the Jesus before Whom he trembled, and by Whom he will soon be cast into hell.

You will trust the wrong Jesus. You will put your trust in another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit, all of which are false (II Cor 11:1-4,13-15). You will think you know Jesus, when you do not. You will think you know how He thinks of you, but you will not. You will be deceived into confidence of your relationship with Him, without a true basis for that confidence. You will be lulled into religious sleep by a gentle religious guru unlike anything in the Bible. One day soon you will be very surprised!

You will harm your mind. Once you allow Mr. Gibson to brainwash you with a sight-and-sound show of the devil’s illusion of Jesus Christ, you will be unable to easily purge your memory of the images and impulses. Reading the Bible, listening to preaching, hearing songs about His death, or whatever godly means you use to consider Jesus Christ will recall the movie. You will be praying to a Hollywood, synthetic Jesus of various takes from various scenes. You will have no clue about the Jesus of God.

You will compromise Bible Christianity. The religion of Jesus Christ is not gathering with pagans and carnal Christians to get emotional about an animated crucifix. The obvious ecumenical intent of this movie is contrary to the separation demanded by the Bible. The call of the Lord Jesus Christ is to come out of Rome and her false Christianity (Rev 18:4). Your life may never be the same. You will become a deceived victim of the great deception (II Thess 2:9-12). You have been warned!

How should we picture Jesus in our minds?

“Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

Acts 17:29-31

“I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.”

I Timothy 6:13-16

“And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Revelation 1:12-18

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Revelation 19:11-16

Our Purpose

Our motive is simple. We love the Lord Jesus Christ, His truth, and His elect in that order. We want to raise a voice in these perilous times against the carnal and false Christianity that is compromising truth and righteousness. The Word of God is absolutely true. There is no reason to be confused about this movie. We stand ready and willing to serve any that desire to fully serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
